The acceptance of New Jersey standards, however, may prove significant. - LS] $11M MOT Cleanup Agreement Reached The Jersey Journal, 09/26/01 By Moses Yahaya Journal staff writer The Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority has convinced the U.S. Army to commit to an environmental cleanup of contaminated land at the Military Ocean Terminal - and it scored the contract for the project itself. The agreement calls for the Army to provide funds for the cleanup, estimated to cost $11 million, and paves the way for transfer of contaminated MOT parcels to the LRA by as early as January. Earlier this month, LRA Executive Director Nicholas Chiravalloti and the authority's general counsel, Nancy Kist, met with Army officials at the Pentagon to ratify the accord, known as the Environmental Services Cooperative Agreement.
