[CPEO-MEF] UXO containing lands in other countries

I recently read a story in the New York Times about how Cambodia is
considering turning 1 million acres of former Khmer Rouge controlled
mountain country into a wilderness area/wildlife refuge because of the
threat of millions of mines and other UXO.

I was wondering if anyone knew of anything similar happening in Europe
(WWI, WWII, Cold War, etc)?
