Mountain View Voice Editorial Publication Date: Friday, December 13, 2002 Swamped with Complex Issues, Marsh Quagmire Bogged down by NASA Plans The swath of land that sits between Mountain View and the open waters of San Francisco Bay is equally burdened by vast potential and the bad habits of NASA. With the $1 billion NASA redevelopment plan for Moffett Field and the state/federal/private plan to restore the Cargill salt ponds both in the works, NASA should add environmental conservation to its priority list to create a cutting edge research park surrounded by restored tidal wetlands. But relatively minor financial considerations and NASA's unwillingness to partake in conservation efforts could stand in the way of restoring local wetlands. ...
