DuBois Keynotes NDIA Environmental and Energy Symposium Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Installations and Environment Raymond F. DuBois will deliver the keynote address in the opening plenary session of the 29th Annual National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) Environmental and Energy Symposium Tuesday, April 8, at 9 a.m. EDT. This event, which is open for media coverage, will be held in the Grand Ballroom, Ballroom Building, Level II of the Richmond Area Convention Center, 301 North 3rd St., Richmond, Va. DuBois's remarks will cover key defense issues including the 2005 base realignment and closure process and the recent Department of Defense environmental proposals designed to protect the readiness and training capabilities of the U.S. warfighter. Additionally, he will briefly discuss post-war Iraq reconstruction planning. Immediately following his remarks, DuBois will be available for questions from the media in Room B20, also located on Level II of the Grand Ballroom Building. In conjunction with the NDIA symposium, DuBois will present the Coastal America Partnership Award to the Back River Restoration Team in the Grand Ballroom at 10:20 a.m. This presidential award recognizes outstanding team efforts to protect and restore coastal resources working through collaborative partnerships with federal, state and local governments, non-profit organizations and private industry. The Back River Restoration group consists of DoD, Langley Air Force Base, Va., Virginia Marine Resources Commission, Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation, The City of Hampton, Va., Public Works Department, National Aquarium in Baltimore, Md., Chesapeake Bay Foundation and the Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay.
