Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Critical Habitat on Camp Pendleton |
Over the months there have been many discussions about the encroachments
problems facing Camp Pendleton. Much of the debate has been centered
around the amount of critical habitat that has been designated on this
site. DOD has testified before Congress that 57% of land at Camp Pendleton
had been designated critical habitat. Actually 57% had been proposed. The
link below directs you to a map based upon Fish and Wildlife data showing
the actual critical habitat designations to date. You will also notice other encroachments such as a nuclear power plant, an interstate highway, and dense development. http://www.cpeo.org/pubs/camp_pend.jpg Aimee ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aimee R.
