Striking observation, Mr. Pollack, I am interested to know what kind of insurance would cover a former defense site with an impact area, contaminated groundwater with AP numbers as high as 247 ppb, early transferring to this county for a high intensive use regional park with minimal characterization. The company has not been disclosed and it is expected to transfer in this fiscal year before Sept. 30th, 2003.

Can anyone assist me in clarifying why this site would switch from a Public Benefit Conveyance to a Economic Development Conveyance within months of early transfer?

Thank you,
Christine Sutherland

"The Army won't clean up the base before turning it over, but plans to
provide Clark County with money for the work as well as insurance to cover
cost-overruns and liability."

I would be interested in knowing what kind of insurance would cover a former
defense site and if the Army or the insurer would be the ones fighting the
regulators and public when further cleanup was found necessary.
