Crane group offers update on clean-up efforts

Members of the Restoration Advisory Board at Naval Surface Warfare
Center, Crane Division gathered Tuesday for their semi-annual meeting.

The group received an update on environmental solid waste clean-up
efforts completed, under way and now being studied.

The group, formed in 1995, is charged with the task of facilitating
communication and coordination between the area communities and
governmental agencies working in the environmental restoration at the
Crane facility. Through the Restoration Advisory Board (RAB), the
various stakeholders review progress and give advice relating to a
variety of clean-up efforts.

The group works in a pro-active partnership with Crane employees and the
regulatory agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), to study
clean-up issues and set priorities in the restoration process.
