By PHIL PITCHFORD Riverside Press-Enterprise (CA) May 7, 2004 Kelly Space & Technology, the San Bernardino firm that hopes to create an aerospace technology park at the former Norton Air Force Base, expects to complete negotiations within a month for an expanded jet- and rocket-engine testing site. The company expects to lease about 20 acres on the east side of the former base, most of which now is San Bernardino International Airport, according to Michael Gallo, Kelly's president and chief executive. Kelly would sublease part of the property to Wyle Laboratories, an El Segundo company that has been criticized recently by Norco residents who believe years of tests at Wyle's facility there has caused health problems among area residents. Wyle denies any wrongdoing. Wyle would use a site at Third and Alabama streets to test rocket engines.
