The transfer of deeds on 97 acres at the former McClellan Air Force Base is the first in what is expected to be a series of transfers that will place most of the 3,452-acre facility in private hands. Currently, the county holds 99-year leases on most of the base and has sold those leases to McClellan Park, a private company developing the base, which in turn leases space to more than 130 tenants.
