A highly anticipated $78,000 study -- produced only after the
intervention of a congresswoman -- found no evidence of toxic problems
from a World War II-era airfield in Rohnert Park.

The study, which was prompted by the ongoing battle over a casino
planned next to the old Navy landing field, continues to be debated.

At stake is the credibility of casino opponents, who warn the casino and
hotel site planned by the Graton Rancheria tribe is probably

corps that there are no lingering problems associated with the airfield.

"The original assumption has been pretty much correct -- that it doesn't

the corps official in charge of overseeing any cleanup of the old airfield.
