The Senate Defense Appropriations Subcommittee has completed action on 
the Fiscal Year 2005 Defense Budget. It next goes to the Senate floor 
for debate and approval, and then Senate and House conferees will work 
out differences between their two bills.

The Senate made significant increases in the Army, Navy, and Formerly 
Used Defense Sites (FUDS) cleanup budgets, compared both to 2004 and to 
the President's budget request.

He following information comes from Senate Report 108-284 - "DEPARTMENT 
OF DEFENSE APPROPRIATIONS BILL, 2005," which may be downloaded from 
http://thomas.loc.gov.

The following table summarizes Environmental Restoration funding. It 
does not include funds for cleanup at Base Realignment and Closure 
installations. That money is in the Military Construction Appropriations 
Act.

All values are in thousands of US dollars. Years are federal fiscal
