Military worries halt condo towers

Miami Herald (Associated Press)
August 22, 2004

DESTIN - (AP) -- A developer has withdrawn his request to annex land for
a high-rise condominium complex that Air Force officials said would have
interfered with radar to track weapons and training missions over the
Gulf of Mexico.

Peter Bos said Friday that he no longer wants the city of Destin to
annex the property and is downsizing the project. He said phone calls he
received from community members worried about operations at Eglin Air
Force Base persuaded him to make the change.
