Source of pollution slippery By Gale Rose Pratt Tribune (KS) October 8, 2004 After years of testing, three things are clear about carbon tetrachloride contamination in a water well at the Pratt Industrial Airport and two water wells on private property. The contamination level is rising, neither the Kansas Department of Health and Environment nor the Army Corps of Engineers has determined the source of the contamination yet, and the Corps had been unable to determine who is responsible for the contamination, said Donna DeCarlo, environmental geologist and project manager, Super Fund Unit/Assessment and Restoration section. The airport was the Pratt Army Airfield during World War II and was used to train B-29 crews.
