DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGY
DEMONSTRATION AND VALIDATION ARLINGTON, VA, January 06, 2005--The Department of Defense, through the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), will be funding environmental technology demonstration and validation in the following topics: 1. Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Detection, Discrimination, and Remediation; 2. Characterization, Control, and Treatment of Range Contamination; 3. Remediation of Contaminated Groundwater; and 4. Remediation of Contaminated Sediments. The objective of this effort is to demonstrate and validate the most promising innovative environmental technologies that target DoD's most urgent environmental needs and are projected to pay back the investment within five years through cost savings and improved efficiencies. ESTCP intends to fund multiple projects within each topic area. Projects will be selected through a competitive selection process.
