Legislation seeks to protect homebuyers, military operations by Bryan Jaffe Patuxent River Tester (MD) January 13, 2005 Legislation introduced in the Maryland Senate will seek to protect the viability of military installations such as NAS Patuxent River and Andrews Air Force Base by requiring realtors to include notice of military operations and noise in all contracts for home sales. Senate Bill 17 has been pre-filed for the coming legislative session by Sen. Roy Dyson (D-Calvert, St. Mary's, Charles) and will be submitted to the House of Delegates by Del. John Bohanan (D-Lexington Park) in the coming weeks. "If there is a single issue that could threaten Pax and Webster Field, I think it's encroachment," Dyson said, He praised NAS Patuxent River Commanding officer Capt. Zachary Henry and recently retired NAS Patuxent River Executive Director Tim Smith for getting on top of the noise issue quickly and not letting it get out of hand. ...
