Contamination report is due By Scott Streater Fort Worth Star-Telegram (TX) January 18, 2005 FORT WORTH - A preliminary evaluation of Greenbriar Park shows that pollution from an old nearby Army depot "poses a high risk of adverse environmental impact," according to city records. But testing on fish from the park's lake measured only trace amounts of toxic metals and pesticides that should not pose a health risk, records show. The final report from consultant Enercon Services of Dallas is expected to be submitted to the city by Wednesday, said Brian Boerner, director of the city's Environmental Management Department. The report will include the results of testing on soil and fish tissue, and perhaps recommendations on how to clean the park, which sits among rows of modest homes and businesses four miles south of downtown. Residents say they are eager to know whether the park has been contaminated by the Fort Worth Federal Center, which the military used for years to store raw materials. ...
