Subject: | [CPEO-MEF] Correction - Base doesn't use tungsten alloy |
Base doesn't use tungsten alloy Because of an editing error, a headline on Page A-1 of Wednesday's (February 23, 2005) Cape Cod Times (and posted on CPEO's Military Environmental Forum) incorrectly stated that ammunition used at Camp Edwards causes tumors in rats. The tungsten alloy studied is used in penetrator rounds, which are not used on the Cape base. Soldiers training on Camp Edwards use small-arms munitions made of a tungsten-nylon.
