Homes' water tested near Fort Meade By A Baltimore Sun Staff Writer April 13, 2005 Well water that flows from contaminated aquifers beneath Fort Meade is safe for drinking at eight of 13 homes tested adjacent to the Army post, Anne Arundel County health officials said yesterday. The results from each of 13 tests came back within federal limits for two cancer-causing agents, tetrachloroethene and carbon tetrachloride. Federal officials revealed in February that chemical levels of those agents - discovered at test wells around a nearby closed on-post landfill - were as much as four times the national contamination standards. ...
