Trailer spills fuel near MCAS Yuma Sun (AZ) April 13, 2005 Fuel used to power a generator spilled onto Avenue 3E Tuesday afternoon after the generator came loose from a military vehicle. First Lt. Beatriz Yarrish, public affairs officer, said a fuel generator used by Marine Wing Support Squadron-371 disconnected from a Humvee that was towing it, spilling JP-8 fuel. The Humvee was traveling south on Avenue 3E just south of County 13th Street, according to Yuma Fire Department spokesman Steve Legros. ... She said the surrounding dirt that came in contact with the fuel was dug up and removed by MWSS-371 Marines. "There was no contamination of groundwater because the dirt was dug up," Yarrish said. ...
