Forestdale well woes said not base-linked

SANDWICH - After months of wrangling between the Army and Sandwich
residents, this week the Environmental Protection Agency announced that
contamination in a Forestdale neighborhood is likely not coming from the
nearby Upper Cape base.

EPA official Brian Olsen said the agency will take over the
investigation of low levels of perchlorate found in private wells on
Peters Pond Drive because the contamination was probably not caused by
military activity on Camp Edwards.
