Schiff Secures Funds for Water Project Political Desk American Chronicle July 28, 2005 Later today the House is set to pass a bill that includes $375,000 for the City of Pasadena's Perchlorate Treatment Program. Working with the City of Pasadena, Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) requested the funding for this project in the 2006 Interior and Environment Appropriations Bill. The funds will help pay for the design of a perchlorate treatment facility that will not only generate cleaner water but also create additional water supplies in the event of a major earthquake. After the discovery of perchlorate contamination in several area water supplies, several facilities were closed. With critical local supplies unavailable, Pasadena is increasingly dependent on water imported from other regions. ...
