Toxins found at Norco schools State to conduct more testing By Sara A. Carter Inland Valley Daily Bulletin (CA) August 22, 2005 Monday, August 22, 2005 - NORCO - Low levels of cancer-causing chemicals have been found at three school sites near Wyle Laboratories, state officials announced Monday. The state Department of Toxic Substances Control, which is overseeing cleanup efforts at the former Defense Department and aerospace industry contractor, detected low levels of trichloroethylene (TCE), perchlorate and vinyl chloride at Norco High School, Norco Intermediate School and Norco Elementary. And though state officials said the contaminate levels were not high enough to warrant closing the schools, more testing will be conducted to ensure the safety of students and teachers. ...
