Military Support Act is signed into law BY Sue Book New Bern Sun Journal Staff (NC) September 29,2005 RALEIGH - The 2005 Military Support Act was signed into law Wednesday and with it comes inviting incentives from North Carolina for military personnel and their families stationed here. "This is the third year the North Carolina General Assembly has been really responsive to military needs and it speaks well that we are the most military friendly state in the country," Lt. Gov. Beverly Perdue said in a Wednesday interview. The law designates military gas tax proceeds for services for military families and protects bases from encroachment, loosens licensing requirement for military spouses in licensed employment fields, makes rental agreements for deployed service members more flexible and provides a variety of educational incentives and concessions. ...
