Salton Sea area to be swept for bombs Ordnance left from defunct test base used for training, inert explosive tests
A Navy subcontractor will search the defunct Salton Sea Test Base for ordnance and other hazardous material - but workers won't look deep enough underground to clear the land for homes. On Wednesday, the firm EOD Technologies announced it would search 7,000 acres near the southwest end of the sea for munitions, explosives and other potential contamination. ...
