Navy rep states concern about homes near base Jackson planners consider proposal for development BY DAVE BENJAMIN Tri-Town News (NJ) March 9, 2006 JACKSON - Planning Board members wanted more information before taking steps to approve a six-lot subdivision on Toms River Road. The application was filed by JoAnn Timbers. "The 20-acre subdivision on Route 571 and Lakehurst Avenue would be divided into five 1-acre lots (for home construction) with the sixth lot, a 15-acre parcel, remaining unchanged," Ernie Peters, the board's engineer, said at a recent meeting. "The parcel is in a Rural Development (RD) district. The 15-acre portion could either be dedicated to the municipality or be given to the landowners with a conservation easement." Lt. William Smith appeared on behalf of Naval Air Engineering Station, Lakehurst, and commanding officer Capt. Bret Gordon.
