EPA Leaving Hills

(Cedar Rapids – KCRG) -- The Environmental Protection Agency is making 
what could be its final check of a small town in Johnson County. Hills 
is a short drive south of Iowa City.

In the past the EPA has found high levels of the chemical perchlorate in 
much of the town's water supply.

Now, after a couple of years of testing, the EPA is about ready to leave 
the town alone.

For about 20 households in Hills, the yearly visits to test the water 
will never end but the EPA has helped most of the families, and now it 
is time for the state to take over.
