Army: Development could crowd airfield Proposed land-use plan will determine future zoning of open area west of the Army post. Sean Harder Savannah Morning News (GA) March 13, 2006 The future use of more than 900 undeveloped acres west of Hunter Army Airfield could pit the needs of the military against the interests of private property owners. The land, known as Rockingham Farms, is located along Veterans Parkway beneath the flight paths of incoming and outgoing aircraft. Under a draft of the Tricentennial Plan, which maps land-use through 2033, the Metropolitan Planning Commission is recommending the property be rezoned from light industrial to light residential. ...
