Army to cleanup TCE siteBy Todd G. Higdon Neosho Daily News (MO) April 5, 2006 On Monday, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a soils cleanup by the U.S. Army at the site of the old rocket testing facilities at Camp Crowder. The site, part of the U.S. Air Force Plant No. 65, was used to test-fire liquid propelled rocket engines during the 1950s and 1960s. "The engine test area includes the North Engine Test Stand, South Engine Test Stand, Test Shop No. 1, Hazardous Waste Pit, Hazardous Waste Pit Surrounding Area and the liquid oxygen storage area," said Seventh District Congressman Roy Blunt in a prepared statement.
