EPA: TCE cleanup to begin soonBy Todd G. Higdon Neosho Daily News (MO) April 12, 2006 One step closer to cleanup. Members of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced Tuesday a soils cleanup by the U.S. Army at the site of the old rocket testing facilities at Camp Crowder will soon be under way. “We are here tonight for two purposes: We meet every two months, and we are active on the Pools Prairie (Superfund) Site,” said David Williams, EPA Region 7 Superfund Division for the U.S. “And the second is to specifically talk about the engine test area.” The site, part of the U.S. Air Force Plant No. 65, was used to test-fire liquid propelled rocket engines during the 1950s and 1960s. ...
