Hearing to address Sandia landfill reportBy Sue Vorenberg Albuquerque Tribune (NM) April 14, 2006 The mixed-waste landfill at Sandia National Laboratories has almost no risk of contaminating groundwater below the site, according to a report. But members of Citizen Action say they don't buy the results. The two sides faced off Thursday at an educational public meeting hosted by the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Groundwater Protection and Advisory Board. At issue was a report completed last November. Citizen Action, an activist group, sued the labs last year to force Sandia to add more environmental safety features to the site. ...
