Rocket fuel found in waterKjerstin Ramsing KXLY TV-4 News (Spokane, WA) June 23, 2006 Rocket fuel in water EPA officials hold town meeting in Reardan about rocket fuel found in the water supply. Rocket fuel found in the water near Reardan has Deep Creek residents concerned the problem is bigger than officials believe. After some routine testing in 2004, EPA officials expanded tests after finding three chemicals near the former Fairchild Nike Battery that "paints a compelling picture that it was probably from rocket fuel," said EPA coordinator Renee Dagseth. At a meeting held by EPA and Spokane Regional Health officials members promised to continue to test well water and would provide free water filters. Residents voiced concerns ranging from the fact their children drink, play and bathe in the water to questioning the future value of their property. ...
