County wants a study done

SAUK COUNTY - Because nobody really knows which way the groundwater flows around the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, Sauk County Supervisor Bill Wenzel Jr. is recommending a groundwater study.


The topic has been discussed in county committees, municipality meetings, and with elected national representatives.

Sauk County Director of Planning and Zoning Lance Gurney brought up the idea at the Interim Oversight Management Commission for discussion.

Seeking funding to hire a consultant is not something this group has the authority to do, but, Gurney said, the commissioners can approach the municipalities and groups they represent and request they pass resolutions and together seek grants or appropriations to hire a consultant.
