County approves changes to code, Navy notification area

Churchill County commissioners approved changes to the Consolidated 
Development Code, including the NAS Fallon notification area expansion, 
at a meeting on Wednesday.

The process took several months with many discussions and lots of public 
input and comments, said Eleanor Lockwood, planning director.

There were few revisions proposed to the CDC. They were mostly 
housekeeping issues and clarifications of permitted uses and special use 
permits, said Lockwood.

The clarification of permitted uses authorizes the planning department 
to determine if any proposed permitted use application shows an impact 
such as noise, traffic or incompatibility.
