$240K OK'd to clean up perchlorate CAPE COD TIMES (MA) January 4, 2007BARNSTABLE - The Barnstable County Assembly of Delegates yesterday approved $240,000 in emergency funding to clean up contaminated groundwater at a county-owned fire services training facility in Hyannis. Perchlorate contamination was discovered at the Fire and Rescue Training Academy off Mary Dunn Road this past summer, according to Thomas Cambareri, the Cape Cod Commission's water resources program manager. Based on an analysis of test wells down the hill from the training facility conducted last month, there is a plume of perchlorate-tainted groundwater estimated at 1,000 feet long. ...
