Tax lien kills plan for Cold Spring senior center, parking By Susan Elan White Plains Journal News (NY) January 16, 2007A deal designed to turn a former federal Superfund site in downtown Cold Spring into a community center and 100-space parking lot has dissolved because of a $1.1 million property-tax dispute. "We were told forgiving the taxes would be an illegal action," Putnam Legislator Vincent Tamagna, R-Philipstown, said recently. ...The contaminated site underwent a $100 million cleanup, during which the 100,000-square-foot Marathon Battery Corp. factory was razed.
