More work recommended in parts of Adair training site Albany Democrat-Herald (OR) January 24, 2007A contractor who checked on the former Camp Adair has recommended further study and possible cleanup on parts of the site. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is reviewing the recommendations in what it calls the "Camp Adair Military Munitions Response Program Preliminary Site Investigation (SI) report." Shaw Environmental provided the preliminary report to the Corps last week of the former Camp Adair and Adair Air Force Station west of Albany in northern Benton and southern Polk counties. The site was used for military training during World War II.The draft report will be released to the public in mid-March. A public meeting will be scheduled in late March or early April to present the findings. ...
