Environmental cleanup continues at plant

Oversight of the cleanup at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant 
continued Tuesday with presentations by officials doing the cleanup.

Jennifer Williams, a project geologist with Arcadis, said the purpose of 
the meeting is to summarize the proposed cleanup plan.

The area discussed covers about 200 acres in the western half of Lake 
City's facility at Missouri 78 and Missouri 7 in eastern Independence. 
The administrative, manufacturing, garages and some undeveloped land is 
on that area of the property.
