Fire academy head addresses town's water concerns Perchlorate plumes, current practices reviewed By David Still II Barnstable Patriot (MA) February 16, 2007The director of the Barnstable County Fire and Rescue Training Academy spoke plainly and frankly with members of the Hyannis Water Advisory Board on Tuesday afternoon about the perchlorate plume emanating from his facility. Academy director Lee Pareseau took responsibility for the use of marine flares, found to be the sole source of the plume, at the training facility. "That was a huge oversight on my part," Pareseau told the water board. "It was an attempt to do a good that turned into a bad." ...
