1994 report: Tungsten 'highly toxic' By AMANDA LEHMERT Cape Cod Times (MA) February 22, 2007Five years before tungsten-nylon bullets were fired at Camp Edwards, an Army contractor warned military leaders against using tungsten in its so-called environmentally friendly munitions. Tungsten "may actually be more dangerous than lead," Stephen Adelman Associates wrote in a 1994 Army-funded report. The Maryland-based contractor called tungsten "highly toxic" and urged military leaders to be wary of calling any material "nontoxic" simply because it was lead-free. ...
