DPH, DPL monitor health effects of vintage ordnance By Marconi Calindas Saipan Tribune (Northern Marianas) April 20, 2007The Department of Public Health and Department of Public Lands are joining hands to monitor the health impact of unexploded World War II ordnance or UXOs scattered around the island. Public Health Secretary Joseph Kevin P. Villagomez announced yesterday the new partnership with DPL, which aims to conduct a health monitoring study relating to injuries and health impacts from UXOs left behind from World War II in the CNMI. ...A Brownfields grant is currently funding the project through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
