Cleanup to resume at Norton's Shpack dump By Kevin Tocci South of Boston Enterprise (MA) June 6, 2007NORTON - The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has restarted its cleanup work at the contaminated Shpack dump on Union Road that they had to vacate nearly 11 months ago. Norton residents gathered Tuesday night at the public library to receive updates on the cleanup. Excavation and off-site disposal of radiological material from the Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) site ceased last July when federal money dried up. Tim Nichols, project manager for Conti Engineering and Infrastructure Inc., said work has begun on the site, but the process will take time. ...
