SERDP AND ESTCP TO HOST ANNUAL TECHNICAL SYMPOSIUM & WORKSHOP The Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) and the Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) will hold the annual Partners in Environmental Technology Technical Symposium & Workshop, “Meeting DoD’s Environmental Challenges,” December 4-6, 2007, at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C. The two and one-half day event will feature comprehensive sessions highlighting research and innovative technologies that are assisting the Department of Defense (DoD) to address increasingly complex environmental challenges. The preliminary list of technical sessions includes the following: – Groundwater Remediation: Engineering In-Situ Delivery and Treatment – Wellhead Treatment of Perchlorate – Diagnostic Tools for Contaminant Remediation – Near- and Long-Term Management Strategies for Range Contaminants – Munitions Response: Innovative Sensor Technologies – Munitions Response: Taking Technology to the Field – Alternative Fuels and Air Emissions – Advances in Green Energetics and Processes – Sustainable Forest Management on DoD Lands – Umbrella Approaches to Species and Habitat Management – Environmental Issues Associated with Deployed Bases and Forces During the Symposium, there will be more than 350 posters on display to facilitate technology transfer among the approximately 1,000 attendees. A limited number of spaces are available to display poster presentations of technologies that relate to the Symposium & Workshop technical session topics. If you are interested in being considered for poster space in one of the poster sessions, please refer to the abstract guidelines that are posted at www.serdp.org <http://www.serdp.org/> or www.estcp.org <http://www.estcp.org/>. Both federal and non-federal submissions will be considered. Abstracts should address the technical accomplishments as well as scientific and engineering aspects of the project or technology.
