Growth change would open bombing range to homes By Stuart Steers Rocky Mountain News (CO) July 28, 2007Many Aurora residents near the former Lowry bombing range don't know that public officials are squabbling over whether to move a growth boundary that lies just east of their homes. But if that boundary were to change, thousands of new homes could be built on the bombing range, a prospect that troubles Jake Fidel and some of his neighbors. "I'm against it," said Fidel, who has lived in the Murphy Creek subdivision for just more than a year. "There's not enough roads already." Murphy Creek, east of Buckley Air Force Base, is one of Aurora's newest developments. Old brick farmhouses and barns still dot the countryside, but signs on every intersection announce new subdivisions. ...
