Corps finds no bombs, says Odyssey Middle is safe Rich McKay Orlando Sentinel (FL) August 16, 2007It's safe for children to go to school at Odyssey Middle on Monday, the Army Corps of Engineers officials said Thursday. The Corps finished the first leg of its magnetic and soil tests, and did not find any sign of World War II-era bombs on the surface of the school grounds, officials said in a letter to Orange County public schools. The on-site investigation was completed Thursday, but the Army Corps doesn't yet have all the answers for the school in southeast Orange County. It will take three or four more weeks to find out whether there are any unexploded or leaking bombs deep under the school, said Amanda Ellison, a spokeswoman for the Corps' Jacksonville office. ...
