JPL water cleanup facility to be built By Mary O’Keefe La Canada Valley Sun September 20, 2007Jet Propulsion Laboratory scientists and engineers are used to having cameras explore the outer reaches of the universe. Now they are now receiving images with an inner world focus. A video camera will soon be exploring the underworld of pumping, following the pipeline in the outer region of the Windsor Reservoir in neighboring Altadena. The exploration is due to some contamination of ground water from the activities at JPL more than 50 years ago. NASA/JPL have been cleaning the area water at sites both on and off the JPL campus however recently officials have proposed a new treatment plant be built to increase the cleaning procedure. The plant would be built on Pasadena city land at 2696 Windsor Avenue. The video of the pipes is required in order to get a Pasadena permit for the plant. ...
