Army Won't Share Details on Uncovered Munitions WWI remains: Change is tied to post-9/11 policy order By Charlie Bermpohl The Northwest Current (Washington, DC) November 28, 2007 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, acting out of caution at a time of war and terror attcks, will not publicly reveal the locations of nature of chemicals and munitions found at a Spring Valley site now undergoing digging operations in a search for World War I ordnance. Once the most lethal material from the 90-year-old chemical warfare program is dug up, removed, and destroyed, Army officials indicated recently to the Spring Valley Restoration Advisory Board, the information can be made public. ...
