SeaWorld fireworks require water-quality permit

SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE
December 12, 2007

SAN DIEGO – SeaWorld on Wednesday became the first institution in the
United States to be required to have a water-quality discharge permit to
conduct fireworks displays over a body of water.

The precedent-setting permit was approved Wednesday by the San Diego
Regional Water Quality Control Board with the blessings of the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency.
