US toxic waste victims get Panlilio help Tonette Orejas Philippine Daily Inquirer December 31, 2007 CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- Filipinos who claimed they were made ill by exposure to toxic wastes left by the United States military at the former Clark Air Base have found another ally in Pampanga Gov. Eddie Panlilio. This happened as the People’s Task Force for Bases Cleanup (PTFBC) signed a memorandum of agreement with Panlilio for a support program for victims during the group’s general assembly at the Parish of the Lord’s Resurrection at the Madapdap resettlement site in Mabalacat town on Friday. Nelia Carreon, PTFBC-Clark coordinator, said she was surprised when she realized that Panlilio was the same priest who frequented the evacuation center at the Clark Air Base Command (Cabcom) in 1992 when Mt. Pinatubo’s lahar swamped the northern villages of Mabalacat. ...
