WWII bomb scare at golf course Former training range on Enoch reserve to be searched for buried explosives Jim Farrell The Edmonton Journal (ALB) February 5, 2008 EDMONTON - Big divots are expected this spring at an Edmonton-area golf course as workers dig in a search for unexploded Second World War-era bombs. The search follows the discovery of several practice bombs in 2006 during construction of the Indian Lakes Golf Course on the Enoch Reserve. From 1942 until 1944, air crews flying out of City Centre Airport used the area as a practice bombing range as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Program. That qualifies the area as one of hundreds of UXO (unexploded ordnance) sites in Canada. ...
