San Bernardino County to pay Rialto $4 million for perchlorate cleanup

RIALTO - San Bernardino County will pay Rialto $4 million to help clean 
up perchlorate that is polluting the city's groundwater supply, the City 
Council announced Tuesday night.

The disclosure came after the Rialto City Council emerged from a 
90-minute closed session. The council began its meeting at 6 p.m., 
dispensed with routine items on the consent-calendar portion of its 
agenda and then retreated to a closed session until nearly 8 p.m.
